COLOURING YOUR WORLD

While all lens colors filter light, some colors are more beneficial in certain situations.  For example, yellow tints are ideal for increasing contrast in morning light while copper tints are recommended for bringing out shades of green in bright sunlight.

Transitions Optical has developed more than 3,500 different photochromic dyes that can be combined to achieve the desired lens colour.  Transitions lenses can go from a lighter to a darker shade of the same colour (light grey to dark grey) or from one colour in low light to another colour in bright light (orange to dark grey) to best meet the needs of our wearers.  





JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF LIGHT

Using photochromic technology, Transitions adaptive sunwear is designed to maintain an optimum light level in all situations.   Photochromic lenses respond to changes in UV light – as sunlight increases in intensity, the UV increases and the lenses darken.  The end result is adaptive sunwear that reduces glare in bright lighting, while darkening just enough in lower-light situations.

POLARIZATION, YOUR
DEFENSE AGAINST GLARE 

Polarized lenses are designed to help cut through glare.  They are ideal for situations in which glare results from light reflecting off flat, horizontal surfaces, such as glass, concrete, shiny metal, water, ice or snow.  Combining polarization with Transitions photochromic technology reduces glare in appropriate situations, resulting in added visual comfort and reduced eye fatigue.
