Expansion of Transitions Sunwear Line Brings Photochromic Technology for Motorcycle Riding to Europe
PINELLAS PARK, Fla., April 14, 2011 – Transitions Optical, Inc. is partnering with Lazer® SA, the Belgian manufacturer of motorcycle helmets, to expand its photochromic face shield availability into Europe with the new Lazer Lumino visor. The visor uses photochromic technology from Transitions Optical to automatically adapt to changing light conditions and provide an optimized tint in all riding conditions.
The company’s Monaco helmet comes standard with a Lumino visor and after-market visors are available to fit seven other popular helmet styles in Lazer’s line.
“In all types of outdoor riding conditions, motorcycle enthusiasts rely on their vision to effectively monitor their surroundings, especially when it comes to changing light or weather,” said Grady Lenski, global director, Transitions sunwear. “Lumino visors feature the trusted comfort and convenience of Transitions photochromic lenses to help riders see their best no matter what challenging light conditions they encounter, helping to enhance the overall riding experience.”
“With this advanced technology from Transitions Optical, riders can wear one face shield all the time, while ensuring that they are seeing their best on the road or track,” said Alexander de Vos van Steenwijk, managing director of Lazer.
Lumino visors are virtually clear in low light/overcast conditions, and they quickly and automatically darken and adapt, becoming dark in bright sunlight. Like all Transitions Optical products, the visors block 100 percent of UVA and UVB rays. The products are marketed as part of Transitions SOLFX sunwear line. Available in Europe now, the visors are anti-scratch and Pinlock Ready (as accessory) and Pinlock fitted on the new Lazer Monaco.
